Never Again

I have been looking forward to getting Levi's 6 month pictures taken, he is so fun and such a happy baby.  Bronson's 6 month pictures are some of my favorites, I loved them all, I was expecting the same sweet results with Levi.
Well uh . . . . . . . . I foolishly thought that by scheduling our appointment during Levi's happy time would produce these kind of results.  I forgot (as usual) to take into consideration the 30 plus minute delay we'd have, not to mention I arrived about 10 minutes early.  Poor Levi, he did produce some great smiles for the people in line with us, so when it was finally our turn he was plumb tuckered and ready for a nap.  The good news is that Target gave us a free email of all of our photos as an apology for the hideous wait.  How thoughtful, now we don't have to wait two weeks to see the pictures of our miserable baby.   From now on I'll just have to take matters into my own hands.
So thank you Target once again, for absolutely NOTHING!
(if you want to remind yourself how cute Bronson's 6 month pics were they are in May of '08 archive, then you'll see why I'm so bummed)

Boating

"Captain, iceberg ahead."
"Hmmm, I wonder what these buttons do?"
This past Saturday we were able to go to Pineview with our neighbors the Stuarts.  As you can see as long as Bronson was driving the boat he was pretty happy.  It was a very busy day.  We waited about an hour and a half just to get in, the parking lot was full so they could only let boats in if boats were coming out.  After a long and hot wait we finally unloaded and we all went for a dip to cool off.  It was pretty tricky trying to do anything, the water was very choppy and there were literally boats everywhere, you wouldn't believe it unless you saw it.  We still had a lot of fun catching some rays, hanging out with friends, and playing with steering wheels.
"beep beep"
"whoa"
To sum it all up here's Jared the self proclaimed hydrophobic,
designated flag twirler,
and here's me, the self proclaimed wimp and first time wake boarder,
actually I don't even deserve that title, since the only success I had
with it was getting it on.
(look closely and you can see me at the end of the rope)
Yikes, my nose is still burning from the few gallons of lake water I got to ingest.  I better go work out A LOT before do that again.  It's a harsh reality that over the past three years I've traded in what little muscle I had for jell-o, and now the water level and Pineview has dropped because . . . . . . . . . . .  well, I drank it all.

my little babies are gettin' big

Levi loves to eat big boy food in his new high chair,
I didn't have the heart to make him sit in Bronson's
completely slimed high chair, it could really use a fire hose.
cute on bottom
and up top
This is Bronson at the fair, checkin' out the roosters - I think he
prefers them as a toy or in a book rather then in real life.

derby babies

things to consider if attending a demolition derby
#1 - arrive early so you don't have to sit on the front row
 # 2 - if you are late you will have to park very far away,
 don't forget the stroller
 # 3 you will need to apologize to your sleeping baby
#4 - don't forget the earplugs, not for the noise but to
keep flying dirt out of your ears
 #5 expect an adrenaline rush
(one that may leave you up blogging much too late)
#6 have fun
It's been over 8 years since Jared and I went on our first date - a demolition derby.  I'd forgotten how much fun they are.  No wonder we fell in love :)  I'm not sure if taking two babies was the smartest move but they did pretty good.  I think Bronson may have enjoyed watching the cars being towed away just as much as the crashing. (he has a thing for trucks and tractors these days)  It was a lot of fun to watch him get excited and clap his hands "awright!"  This derby has grown a ton and is much better than it was about 5 years ago when we last saw it.  We couldn't stay till the end of course, but still had lots of fun.  We might start making  a tradition out of it.  Nothing says a good time like loud, smoking, rusty old cars crashing into each other at high speeds.

"Lost, lost, lost"

Well we all know how famous I've become at misplacing just about everything, (including my mind somedays) but I've committed the ultimate crime, I've lost my wedding ring.  Not misplaced but lost. I can't find it anywhere.  The last time I remember having it was when I took it off to give the boys a bath, then I placed it on the bathroom counter.  I'm not sure this was the last time I had it, it's just the last time I remember having it.  Well I'm usually not so dumb to leave it around where it's in Bronson territory, but where could it be?  I have checked and rechecked all of the usual ring residences over and over.  Why isn't it there?  Did I put it someplace bizarre and just forgot to remind myself to get it out of that place?  No, I never do that.  Well there is a million places that it could be, but why would it be in any of those places, I always put it in the same spots.  Oh no, maybe Bronson really did get a hold of it and it's really gone forever, flushed down the toilet, down the sink, or into the garbage can.  NOOOOOO! This is my wedding ring it's not really gone forever is it?  Well since it's been two weeks and it still hasn't turned up anywhere that is becoming a very good possibility.
and now here's Paul Harvey with "the rest of the story"

Talk about the worst feeling, you're ring is the one thing you can keep forever that has a lot of meaning, ya know?  I'm really having a hard time wrapping my mind around the thought that it is buried at the dump.  Jared decided to go buy one of those cameras on the end of a long skinny wire, I guess they are used for detecting pipe corrosion.  It was the only way he could reach the pea traps for our tubs.  After he'd checked the sinks and came up empty handed (well I shouldn't say that, he did recover a tooth brush and a pair of tweezers that Bronson had put down the drain) he decided we'd better give it a try.
Well on Saturday Jared and I were able to go to the temple.  I won't admit how long it's been since we've gone but it was a VERY long time.  I remember thinking on the way there, maybe we'll find my ring today since we finally made it back to the temple.  So that night we had the camera ready to go but unfortunately no luck, again.  Well, I'm just gonna have to start tearing the house apart, and search everywhere, I don't want to give up yet.  Sunday morning I was getting Levi dressed after his bath.  He was on his changing table.  Above his changing table are two little shelves, I have used these shelves before to put my ring on when I put lotion on Levi, but like I said I've already checked these places over and over, it's not there.  I'm not even sure I remember this right, it's still kind of a blur, but for some reason I had moved the bottle of sand on the shelf, and really I don't know why, honestly I don't remember even moving it, I just remember that when I looked up, the sand bottle was moved over from it's normal spot, and there it was, my ring!  AHHH, Jared!  Guess what I found?  Well I can make some guesses as to how it got there but they don't really matter, what does matter is that my wedding ring is safely back on my finger and I am 100% positive it was a temple blessing that we found it.
